Teleorman County, in southern Muntenia, has its capital at Alexandria and also includes Turnu Măgurele, an old port on the Danube. With a population of around 340,000 and a predominantly agricultural economy — the Teleorman plain is one of the most fertile in the country — the county seeks to attract investment in food processing and logistics.
