Graphic Design in Aiud

About this service

The most common problems come from unclear briefs and incomplete files. A logo delivered only as a JPG can't be printed on an illuminated sign and can't be resized without losing quality; a flyer sent to print without bleed gets trimmed crooked. The designer asks from the start where the material will be used, at what sizes, and on what medium, then proposes options and refines them from feedback, within a number of revisions set out in the contract. At the end you should receive the editable sources, print and web versions, and the rules for using the identity. On SmallJobs you can request offers for a logo, promotional material, or print-ready artwork.

What to check before hiring a graphic design

Check that print artwork has bleed and the correct colour profile
Ask for black-and-white and dark-background versions of the logo
Clarify in writing who owns the usage rights
Don't confuse design with trademark registration — they're different procedures
Keep the editable sources somewhere safe, for future work
Ask for vector files, not just finished images

Frequently Asked Questions

What does print-ready artwork mean?

That it has bleed, safety margins, a CMYK colour profile, sufficient resolution, and fonts converted or embedded. Ask for the file as a print PDF, matching the requirements of the printer you've chosen.

Who owns the rights to the logo?

It's set out in the contract. Typically, on full payment, usage rights pass to the client. If you want full exclusivity and complete assignment, ask for it explicitly, in writing.

Does design include trademark registration?

No. Registering a trademark with the national office is a separate legal procedure with its own fees. The designer can supply the necessary material, but filing and legal advice are contracted separately.

How long does a visual identity project take?

For a logo, generally 1-3 weeks including revisions. A full identity with guidelines and materials can take 4-8 weeks, depending on how quickly feedback comes back.

What should the brief contain?

What the business does, who it serves, what you want to convey, a few examples you like and a few you don't, plus where the material will be used. A good brief shortens a project more than anything else.

Can I use an automatically generated logo?

You can, but it usually produces limited files, with no vector source and no assurance it doesn't resemble others. For a business investing in signage and print, the cost difference is recovered quickly.
