IT Installation / Repairs in Racoș

About this service

IT installation and repair services cover everything to do with computers, laptops, and networks at home or in the office: diagnosing hardware faults, replacing components, cleaning and reapplying thermal paste, memory and SSD upgrades, reinstalling the operating system, recovering data from failing drives, removing malware, and configuring networks and printers. A technician first establishes whether the problem is hardware or software, because that determines whether the equipment is worth repairing or replacing. Many interventions — swapping a mechanical drive for an SSD, cleaning the cooling system, a clean reinstall — bring a five-year-old computer back close to its original speed for a fraction of the price of a new one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a laptop repair cost in Racoș?

Diagnosis generally costs 50-150 RON in Racoș, and routine work — cleaning, thermal paste, a system reinstall, fitting an SSD — falls between 100 and 350 RON. Parts are invoiced separately.

Is a 6-7 year old laptop worth repairing?

It depends on the fault. A new SSD and another 8 GB of memory can add years of life for 300-600 RON. A burnt-out motherboard or a replacement display, on the other hand, often costs as much as an equivalent second-hand laptop.

Can data be recovered from a failed drive?

Often yes, if the drive is still recognised by the system. Logical recovery uses specialist software and costs 200-600 RON. If the drive has a mechanical fault, a specialist lab is needed and the cost rises significantly.

Why does my laptop overheat and shut down?

Most often because of dust in the heatsink and dried-out thermal paste. Cleaning the cooling system and reapplying paste fixes it in most cases, and costs far less than a motherboard.

Does the technician come to my home?

Yes, most software work, network setup, and simple upgrades are done at home or in the office. Repairs requiring full disassembly or soldering are usually done at the workshop.

Will I lose my data during a system reinstall?

Not if a backup is taken first. Explicitly ask for your data to be saved to an external drive before reinstalling — it's the step most often skipped and the only irreversible one.
