IT Installation / Repairs in Drobeta-Turnu Severin

About this service

The most common problems have mundane causes: a laptop that overheats and shuts down needs cleaning and fresh thermal paste, one that boots slowly has a mechanical drive at the end of its life, and an unstable wireless network usually means a badly placed router or a congested channel. The technician gives a clear diagnosis before quoting costs, and says so when a repair isn't worth it. Services also cover the installation side: setting up a new computer, migrating data from the old one, installing and configuring printers, NAS units, IP cameras, and office networks, with structured cabling where needed. On SmallJobs you'll find technicians who come to your home or premises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 6-7 year old laptop worth repairing?

It depends on the fault. A new SSD and another 8 GB of memory can add years of life for 300-600 RON. A burnt-out motherboard or a replacement display, on the other hand, often costs as much as an equivalent second-hand laptop.

Can data be recovered from a failed drive?

Often yes, if the drive is still recognised by the system. Logical recovery uses specialist software and costs 200-600 RON. If the drive has a mechanical fault, a specialist lab is needed and the cost rises significantly.

Why does my laptop overheat and shut down?

Most often because of dust in the heatsink and dried-out thermal paste. Cleaning the cooling system and reapplying paste fixes it in most cases, and costs far less than a motherboard.

Does the technician come to my home?

Yes, most software work, network setup, and simple upgrades are done at home or in the office. Repairs requiring full disassembly or soldering are usually done at the workshop.

Will I lose my data during a system reinstall?

Not if a backup is taken first. Explicitly ask for your data to be saved to an external drive before reinstalling — it's the step most often skipped and the only irreversible one.

How long does a system reinstall take?

Between 1 and 3 hours, depending on drive speed and how many programs have to be reinstalled. With an SSD the process is considerably faster than on a mechanical drive.
