Rope Access in Estelnic

About this service

Rope access solves work at height where scaffolding or a cherry picker cannot reach, will not fit, or would cost disproportionately more. Rope access technicians work suspended on ropes with a double safety system, carrying out facade repairs, window cleaning on apartment blocks and office buildings, anti-pigeon netting, joint waterproofing, painting, icicle removal, tree work in confined spaces, sign installation, and technical inspections of the building envelope. The trade is regulated: workers must hold a recognised rope access qualification, and personal protective equipment is subject to strict inspection intervals. The practical advantage is speed — a rope team can start the same day, with no permits to occupy the public pavement.

What to check before hiring a rope access

Schedule facade work for the warm season, not in windy or freezing periods
Ask for a written warranty on repairs and waterproofing
Make sure the ground area is cordoned off for the duration of the work
Compare at least two or three quotes for the same scope of work
Ask for the rope access certificates and the liability policy before work starts
Send clear photos of the area and state the height, so the quote is realistic

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the owners' association's approval?

For work on the shared facade of an apartment block, yes. For work on your own balcony or your own windows, generally not, though roof access still has to be granted by the building manager.

How long does facade work take?

A targeted repair is resolved within a few hours. Painting or waterproofing an entire block facade takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the area, the number of teams, and the weather.

Can the work be done in any weather?

No. Strong wind, rain, ice, and very low temperatures stop rope work for safety reasons, and some materials cannot be applied below certain temperatures. Spring to autumn is the working season.

What warranty do I get?

For facade repairs and waterproofing, the usual warranty is 1-3 years, depending on the materials used. Ask for the warranty in writing, together with the datasheets for the products applied.

Who is liable if damage occurs?

The contractor, through their professional liability insurance. That is the main reason to work with a team that can produce the policy rather than with individuals operating informally.

Can icicles be removed from a roof in winter?

Yes, it is one of the most common emergency call-outs, because falling icicles can injure passers-by. The team cordons off the ground area and removes the ice safely, working from the top down.
